Hello and hope you’re having a wonderful day!

It’s been another busy week at celebratemuliebrity HQ – last weekend I was away teaching my perinatal pelvic girdle pain course and I spent Friday at a Lymphedema update which is both illuminating AND controversial – light or deep pressure? Breathing exercises – do they work? Kinesiotaping – does it work? More of that in upcoming blogposts! Next weekend, I’ll be returning to one of my favourite places to teach, Live and Breathe Pilates in Dublin. I’m kicking off a pelvic health series there – next Sunday (feb 23rd) we’ll be covering female pelvic health and anatomy, especially during the perinatal year, how to screen and strategise for bladder, bowel and prolapse issues and how to integrate pelvic health awareness into movement. The second part of the series will be in May where we’ll look at movement at midlife/menopause – what do we need to be aware of? And to wrap it up in July, I’ll be teaching a brand new session, for Movement Strategies for Pelvic Pain – we’ll be discussing issues like pelvic floor muscle overactivity, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Endometriosis and Bladder Pain Syndrome/Interstitial Cystitis – details here and hope to see you there!

It may also have been noticed that St Valentine’s Day has just come and gone and I’d like to take the opportunity to mention heart health…again! It’s the biggest killer of women worldwide, our risk of a cardiac event goes up dramatically not only after menopause /hysterectomy …but also while we’re pregnant. I’ve gathered some recent blogposts and podcasts where I talk about women’s heart health at different life stages – you can find them here. Remember that self-care is not selfish – the heart pumps blood to itself first, before it sends it around the rest of the body…maybe we should follow that example?!

And finally….as you may have heard, my brand new Breast Cancer Rehab Coach course is available online, and to celebrate, the launch price is €50 off the regular cost. This is really a passion project and I’ve been so lucky to be able to interview many wonderful friends and colleagues who have shared their wisdom with me – I’m sharing some of the interviews I have done, including this wonderful chat I had with Dr Beverly Zavaleta, author of Braving Chemo – this is a wonderful resource for both cancer patients and the healthcare pro’s who serve them. Dr Zavaleta shared some wonderful pearls of wisdom in her interview below, and of course, if you’d like to learn more about joining the Breast Cancer Rehab Coach course, please have a look here and drop me a line if you have any questions…but remember, the launch discount is only here until February 29th!

But now, without further delay, here’s the video with Dr Zavaleta! Enjoy!
